Clippers, Buckeyes entertain crowd at Huntington Park
Columbus wins exhibition game 4-3 over Ohio State
04/05/2011 9:26 PM ET

Clippers manager Mike Sarbaugh said, "It was a good night for the city of Columbus." describing Tuesday's exhibition game against Ohio State. Columbus picked up a 4-3 victory in the seven inning affair at Huntington Park.

The Clippers took a 3-0 lead into the fourth inning, but homers by Brian DeLucia and Luke Carlin (suiting up for Ohio State) pulled the Buckeyes even at 3-3, but Columbus outfielder Chad Huffman drove home Lonnie Chisenhall in the fifth to lift the Clippers to the win.

Indians outfielder Grady Sizemore was 0-for-4 in a rehab visit, while tribe reliever Joe Smith looked impressive in one flawless inning of work.

The Clippers supplied the pitching for both teams so Zach McAllister took the loss, but didn't allow an earned run. "He had good life on his fastball." Sarbaugh said. McAllister is slated to pitch Sunday in Indianapolis.

Columbus will host Double-A Akron at 2:05pm Wednesday, which will be followed by the "Meet the Team Party" at the Lifestyles Pavilion.

Mike Sarbaugh's club will begin defense of their Governors' Cup and Triple-A National Championships on Thursday night in Indianapolis. Left-hander David Huff is scheduled to take the mound.
