FORT WAYNE, Ind.-- The Beloit Sky Carp continued their outstanding play on the road with a 6-5 victory over the Fort Wayne TinCaps Wednesday night.
The win was the second straight over Fort Wayne and the team's sixth in its last seven tilts away from Beoit. The Sky Carp got off to an outstanding start, plating three runs in the second inning.
Josh Zamora and Davis Bradshaw each had RBI hits, while Kahlil Watson had a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0. The TinCaps made sure that lead was short-lived, however. Fort Wayne scored once in the third inning and four times in the fourth to take a 5-3 advantage.
Beloit fought back, scoring a run on a wild pitch in the sixth to draw within a run. The game turned in the seventh inning, with Yiddi Cappe scoring Zamora and Bradshaw with a double to give the Sky Carp a 6-5 lead.
Caleb Wurster continued his outstanding season with a pair of scoreless innings to record the victory. Matt Pushard was outstanding as well, pitching the final two frames to record his fourth save of the season.
The two teams will battle in game three of the series Thursday night, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Central time.
Beloit will return home to take on the South Bend Cubs Tuesday at 6:05 p.m.
