BELOIT—It was a tough beginning to a homestand for the Beloit Sky Carp Tuesday night, as they fell 11-4 to visiting West Michigan on Teacher Appreciation Night at ABC Supply Stadium.
The Whitecaps chased Sky Carp starting pitcher Holt Jones from the game in the first inning, scoring six times in the initial frame to take command of the game.
West Michigan scored in every inning besides the middle three. Beloit’s runs came from a Josh Zamora RBI single, a Brady Allen double and sacrifice flies from Brady Allen and Dalvy Rosario.
The two teams will have a quick turnaround, with a school day scheduled for Wednesday. The game’s first pitch is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. The Sky Carp’s homestand will run through Sunday, with weekend temperatures expected to be in the 70’s.
