Operating as the Birmingham Barons, LLC, the Logan family, consisting of Don Logan and his two sons, Jeff and Stan, purchased the Barons franchise from the Elmore Sports Group Ltd. following the 2005 season. The Birmingham Barons, LLC became the 11th owner in the Barons' storied history that spans more than 100 years. The Logan family has significant roots in the community and plans to continue the tradition of fun, family-oriented entertainment that the Birmingham area has come to expect from the Barons.
Don Logan moved his family to Birmingham in 1970 as he began his 22-year career with Southern Progress Corporation. Don moved to New York in 1992 and became CEO of Time, Inc.
Early in 2006, Don stepped down from his day-to-day responsibilities as the Chairman of Time Warner's Media and Communications Group, a position he had held since 2002.
