Cyclones Top BlueClaws 8-0 in Series Opener on Tuesday

Jersey Shore (22-21) had a two-game win streak snapped in getting blanked for the second time this year. Brooklyn (20-23) has now won nine of their last 12 games.
Brooklyn got the scoring started in the third inning on an RBI single from catcher Kevin Parada. With two outs and after two walks, Omar De Los Santos doubled in two more runs to put Brooklyn up 3-0.
Jersey Shore starter Rafael Marcano came out of the game after allowing three runs in four innings.
Brooklyn added two more unearned runs off reliever Malik Binns in the fifth on a throwing error from third baseman Nick Ward after a De Los Santos grounder. Cesar Berbesi doubled home a run in the sixth, with another scoring on a wild pitch and a balk to give Brooklyn an 8-0 lead.
Chase Antle threw 11 innings of scoreless relief for the BlueClaws and catcher Andrick Nava threw a scoreless ninth.
Marcus Lee Sang had two hits and drew two walks for the BlueClaws.
Cyclones pitchers combined to fan 15 BlueClaws including seven by Jace Beck who earned the win with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief. Starter Blade Tidwell gave up two hits and struck out four in 3.2 innings.
The teams play two games on Wednesday beginning at 5:35 pm.
